Description from BE:
The scientific name of this cultivar is Nepenthes spathulata x spectabilis.
An exceptional cultivar named in 2011 for Dame Helen Mirren at one of our gold-medal winning RHS Chelsea Flower Shows. It took eleven more years to multiply up in our lab and was only released for the first time in June 2022. An easy grower, chosen from amongst many candidate clones for it’s exceptionally wide peristome.
History: First introduced in June 2022.
Origin: Horticultural, bred by Borneo Exotics The female parent is our finest selected clone of Nepenthes spathulata, with wide purple peristome and green pitcher body, sold under BE-3175, and the male parent is the incomparable giant form of Nepenthes spectabilis, selected from those sold under BE-3178. This clone was selected from plants out of the same grex as the assorted clones sold under BE-3314, although this particular clone was always separated and is not included in BE-3314.
Source: From a single carefully selected clone.
Climate: 'Highland'. We grow it between about 26 deg. C (80 deg. F) in the daytime, down to 12 deg. C (54 deg. F) at night, although it will certainly tolerate temperatures well outside this range.
