Certainly another important first for Nepenthes cultivation.
The female parent is Nepenthes villosa of the same clone as that offered under BE-3225, which was originally selected form many for its exceptional vigor and remains very probably the most vigorous of all the Nepenthes villosa in cultivation today. The male parent is the giant black Nepenthes robcantleyi, with the cultivar name ‘King of Spades'.
At the time of launching this item, the largest plants we have are still too juvenile to fully show the pitcher characteristics but from what we can see so far, the pitchers will be deeply ribbed, probably more so than the Nepenthes villosa x veitchii, which was the first villosa hybrid we launched by BE back in April 2020.
