A unique form of Nepenthes ampullaria known for its unusually dark pitchers coloration, as well as bizarre black coloration the leaves! We've had these for about 6 months and have found them to be easy growers. Like other ampullaria, it is very responsive to different light levels. Lower light levels influence these to produce large leaves, while bright light causes much more compact growth and brings out the chsractistic black leaf coloration.
We grew these originally in lower lighting while we were establishing them and recently moved them to brighter light to bright out this forms best characteristics! As a result, the newest leaves may be smaller than the older leaves.
